Product Information
The quantitative distribution of the associative and projection efferent fibers of the different fields of the sensorimotor (SM) and parietal cortex (PC) along with ultrastructural organization of PC terminals in the nucleus caudatus (NC) and ruber (NR) in the cat were studied. It was shown, that areas primary motor (MI) and sensory cortex (SI) did not have reciprocal connections. It was identified the maximal projected fields of the cortex (fundal fields of the MI, area Clare-Bishop-39, 40 in human), the subcortical and brainstem nuclei (NC, NR) nuclei pontis (NP) and reticularis (R) with definition of the ultrastructural organization of axon terminals of PC on GABAergic cells of above mentioned nuclei. Our results about the maximal projected fields of cortex and subcortical, brainstem nuclei which are highly consistents with those from studies of specimens from humans after strokes in PC shows probably dominant inhibitory influence of cortico-brainstem efferents of PC with maximal involvement of noted GABAergic nuclei in realization of clinical manifestation under stroke PC in human.Product Identifiers
