Missing Falco!
Her books are always worth reading for sense of place and humour, but even though Falco is mentioned in this one he hardly has any impact on the tale,and I miss him! It’s an interesting story with strong characters but none of the Flavia Alba books make you turn the pages as quickly as the original series. This one focuses on women and girls in Rome and they are mainly a rather mean spirited silly bunch making it hard to like or identify with their lives.
