It is a terrible war with casualties on all sides as well as strained relations between allies, whose consequences become tragedies. In Troy you will find heroism and hatred, love and loss, revenge and regret, desire and despair. It is these human passions, written bloodily in the sands of a distant shore, that still speak to us today.

  • Not exactly what's shown but fine

Reason I went to eBay was to get the book with the cover shown (to match the rest of my set) disappointed that it was the black cover that I could have got locally but opted not to. Otherwise the book was fine.

  • Good book

An excellent follow up to Stephen Fry's two previous books on Greek mythology. Fascinating retelling of stories I vaguely knew a bit about but not the whole story or its interconnection with all the other tales. Not essential to have read the preceding books but it really helps if you have done so.
