Gilbert O'Sullivan: The Essential Collection
I was a big fan of Gilbert O'Sullivan back in the 1970s. His style of songwriting is very original; the lyrics often quirky and humorous. All of the well-known hits are on this double CD, with a few album tracks and some songs I haven't heard before. All in all, it is excellent value for money and a must for anyone who is a lover of Gilbert O'Sullivan's music.

All the hits .... well ... nearly all his singles , i'm sure one or two were missed off for some reason . But saying that an extensive collection of work dating back to 1971 ! , brings back so many happy memories especially those from the 1970s . A very underrated singer - songwriter who i'm glad to say is still going strong today still producing new albums and touring .

This 2 CD pack has all the old favourites from Gilbert and some of the more recent hits. Gilbert writes songs with such wonderful lyrics and the melodies are very catchy. I totally recommend this for Gilbert O’Sullivan fans new and old.

Probably the only 2CD retrospective available of probably one of the more underrated, overlooked, but idiosyncratic of prolific singer- songwriters. This set contains all the hit singles and much more besides, including newer & recent material. Better value too than the single- disc compilations of his available. Top marks.

Excellent cd, Gilbert at his very best.
Without doubt Gilbert was/is one of the best singer/songwriters to come from these shores of ours. I've followed his career since 1970, as soon as i saw and heard him singing his debut chart hit, "Nothing Rhymed" i was smitten. Obviously that hit is here in all it's glory as are many of his other chart hits. Couple them up with the many album tracks and you've got a great mix although some of them wouldn't be my own personal choices. They're Gilbert's personal choices apparently which is fair enough, he wrote them all after all. It's an 8 out of 10 for me.
