NotesThe high priestess of Rock, Suzi Quatro returns with a very special double vinyl edition of a classic album. The only one of Suzi's studio albums that has never been released on vinyl, Back To The Drive is finally treated to a vinyl release - exclusively for Record Store Day. Originally released in 2006, Suzi has written a new note for each song, included in this gatefold double vinyl edition, along with the lyrics to each track. Back To The Drive is presented on Blue and White splatter Vinyl.
A fabulous album, one of my top three Suzi Quatro albums. A double album with not only all the lyrics printed out, but also short notes from Suzi about each song. As a fan since 1973, with Devil Gate Drive as a particular favourite, I was delighted with the title track, Back to the Drive, also written by Mike Chapman. It has great references back to those heady days of the 1970s.
There's a lovely duet with Suzi's daughter Laura who is also blessed with a terrific but very different voice.
There is a pleasing variety of musical styles on the album, from pure rock and roll as you might expect, to the much more country, Desperado, to the more folksy sounding 15 Minutes of Fame. And is it me, or do the rhythm of the verses of I don't do gentle, remind anyone else of the song Suzi sang on the Happy Days episode 'Stolen Melodies'? Regardless I enjoyed it tremendously.
I thoroughly recommend this product to anyone.
