Cathy is one of my favourite authors and I have loved all her other books. This one, however, is nothing like the others. The front reads "Alone, there is nothing Kim can do as her mothers mental illness spins out of control". In truth Kim is rarely in the book none of the story is about her although a lot is about her mother. Also I enjoy reading about Cathys foster children. Darrel was kept overnight, Hayley not even overnight and Samson for a couple of respite weekends. I felt cheated when I compare this the the other books in the series. It reads like it was written in a hurry.

Cathy Glass writes simply & gives a great insight into fostering. I'd recommend any of her books if you have an interest & desire to understand the minds of children & their behaviours

Always something happening so makes it more interesting. This book was not just about foster carers but also about mental health.
