About this product

Product Information

What does it mean to feel truly alive? Aged 24, Matt Haig's world caved in. He could see no way to go on living. This is the true story of how he came through crisis, triumphed over an illness that almost destroyed him and learned to live again. A moving, funny and joyous exploration of how to live better, love better and feel more alive, Reasons to Stay Alive is more than a memoir. It is a book about making the most of your time on earth. I wrote this book because the oldest cliches remain the truest. Time heals. The bottom of the valley never provides the clearest view. The tunnel does have light at the end of it, even if we haven't been able to see it . . . Words, just sometimes, really can set you free.

  • Reasons to stay alive

This book has been written in an engaging way. It arrived yesterday and I'm already halfway through it. The mix of humour and straight talking the author has used is well balanced. I would definitely recommend this book for anyone who needs to feel like they're not alone in their mental health struggle.

  • Great author

So far I have only read one of the books, how to stay alive, but I found it and honest, interesting and sometimes funny book. It was really well written with short chapters that really helped the flow of the book. If the other two books are as good as the first, then for the price, it was a great deal as most of the Matt Haig books sell for around £5 each.

  • Great service, great choice

Bought a selection of books as I much prefer a physical book to a digital version. Obviously not pristine but doesn't mar the enjoyment and feel. Also eco friendly. Can't fault the selection and prices.

The author has a knack of capturing the inexplicable.

  • A little daunting but once you start reading you'll know you're in good company.

Very readable, psychology books are sometimes written in a highly American/academic manner. From a dark subject, it was a pleasant, understandable read.

  • Really good

Am very happy with my purchase. Book came almost as new with no marks etc, only had marks where it had been read before but that was expected. Will buy from them again :)
