Buying this is the right thing to do.
Larger than the original metal remote - takes a little getting used to the feel of it. But once one does, I think it actually feels a little better in the hand. Harder to lose, and not cold metal. Even though it's plastic, it feels solid enough. I am not worried about breaking it. Battery is a standard 2032, just like the original remote. The IR signal it puts out seems the same strength as the original. The feel of the switches is pretty close, but the plastic makes the click louder. Good but not great.
This is larger than the "real" one that comes with the Apple TV and it doesn't feel like authentic Apple product... but the price is cheaper than getting a "real" one from Apple... so I guess you get what you pay for. With the one I received - you have to point it directly at the Apple TV - more than with the authentic remote that came with the unit. That might annoy some people but it doesn't bother me much -- considering the difference in price. I'm giving this 3 stars because it's okay - it works. You have to point it directly at the Apple TV and it's bigger than the real thing -- but it was cheaper.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Works Instantly and great plus is a FAIR price
Super easy to use comes with battery no programming needed saves you up to $30 which is ridiculous I'm sure they make more on remotes than what the remote controls so unless it's not compatible with your model you could buy 5 of em and still save money lolVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Replacement remote of course not of the same hard material as the original. Seems to have a pause when buttons are pushed. Seems to work ok on the Apple TV we have. Wish I could find the original that came with the AppleTV. LOL Lost one some time ago and it turned up oozing our of the couch cushion - even tho had searched for weeks in the couch and all over. Plastic Knockoff Works Fine

Lightweight and slim
This replacement remote for the AppleTV works like the original. It is still slim but not as slim as the original. This is a good thing because I like to be able to feel the remote and hold it while using the arrows. Being slightly larger is also good because it has less of a chance of slipping between cushions on the couch or falling down next to the arm of the recliner. Cheaply made plastic remote
The remote was made out of cheap flimsy plastic. I would not purchase again. Remote is already broken due to back cover popping off. One week old. Looked aesthetically correct
