  • Best guide for the NES!!

This book is exactly what I needed to help me make sure that I am getting all the correct games for my NES collection. Its super easy to find any game you have interest in. Find out who made it, how rare it is, what type of gameplay it has, year it was made, etc. Perfect companion for any NES game collector! Even looks awesome displayed with the rest of the collection! Thanks for making this book Pat!!

  • Best NES book out there

I missed the Kickstarter for this book but borrowed and read a friends book. I was very excited to see them for sale on Ebay. The book is thorough and interesting with info about the rarity of the games and personal notes that push this book past a simple encyclopedia. I hope the author makes a SNES encyclopedia, would love to see that.

  • Great book for Nintendo followers.

Book came very well packaged. It is completely crammed with everything you’d want to know about the NES games. The book is well written and worth the money. I would highly recommend this book if you are a Nintendo fan.

  • The best book

I was hesitant to buy this since shipping to Canada was a fortune. However this book is worth every penny. It is truly a labour of love. If you like Pat's channel you will love this book. Beyond the games it has some great history. I really loved it included PAL exclusives and unlicensed games. You cannot be a Nintendo fan without this book. The art work is amazing and feels like an official product (except it covers more than Nintendo would).

  • Pretty book, however... another Simon judge in the lineup

Avid, serious NES game collector here. (300+ library). This book is a great library complement for the money, as is it beautifully crafted with crisp quality & beautiful pictures over a massive span of information. Its a pretty cool looking menu ***BUT... I can't make up my mind on whether Pat is a total snob or not yet. Sometimes he makes me laugh, but most of the time he just tries too hard to be like that judge Simon from American Idol. Plus, he's totally biased towards sport games, he'll overrate a lot of crappy games just because... but totally bash some decent ones where he apparently had poor playing skills. Good responsiveness on playing mechanics don't mean a thing to him. Any book that bashes a golden goose just because, but brings a total boring stinky turd like Tom Sawyer over Battletoads on a rank above is just plain nuts.

  • As good as a videogame coffee table book can get.

The reviews are subjective; some right on the money and some that I don't quite agree with. However Pat and team show a vast amount of knowledge and research to provide a true reference guide to the NES. There were a few facts that were a bit off that gave me the sense that they weren't completely knowledgeable to what came before the NES, but generally the information is backed up thoroughly and at times, with a really good sense of humor. Would really like to see an SNES version of this. One of the best book purchases that I've made in recent years and do not regret the what I paid.

  • Amazing NES Book

I was a little weary of paying such a high price for this book, but this thing is awesome! It drips with quality. The pictures and screenshots are extremely clear and beautiful to look at. Having every NES game in one book is just plain fun. Many extras as well. I like how inside each cover of the book are the old magazine Ads and posters, no space is wasted. If you love the nes and you could only have one book about it then this is the one. I can't say enough good things about it. I would recommend it to anyone.

  • The Ultimate NES guide is the highest quality book I have ever seen, packed with Eveything NES!

I have known about this guide for a while now and although it looked and sounded amazing I couldn't justify spending the money, but I finally decided to buy it and I couldn't be happier that I did! My first thoughts were "wow this is a beautiful, big, heavy book" (in a good way) and when I opened it up I instantly noticed the QUALITY of every page was top notch and was instantly flooded with nostalgic feelings as all the pictures of 80's Nintendo ads and box art are on every page. I am so impressed with this book, it truly is The Ultimate guide to the NES library and then some! Anyone who has a fondness for the NES should own this book, it will certainly surpass expectations no matter how great they are.......seriously, the quality of this book is higher than most collectors edition strategy guides and concept art books!

  • A fun book dedicated to one of the best gaming systems of all time.

I am proud to have this sitting along side The Art Of Atari and The Sega Megadrive/Genesis books I have. The book is a nice thick hardcover with sturdy nicely done pages. Like the other two books this book is a pure blast looking at the NES I used to have in the day. Love the in-depth look of the games with details, screenshots, release dates, and even their ratings. It is nice to see so many games covered in this book like a personal favorite Guardian Legend which I don't hear much of. Also it was fun to see some variant covers as well as the peripherals listed as well. All in all a nicely detailed book for the best 8-bit system of the its time.

  • Comprehensive yet easy to read, a great NES reference!

Pat and his editorial staff do an excellent job breaking down the entirety of the NES lineup, while also providing illustrations to give the reader a great encyclopedic reference of all things NES!
