I Was So Please I Immediately Bought Another Pair!!
If you are looking for a review that is a spoddy report on technical wiffwaffery this is not it. I couldn't tell you one end of a frequency response from the other . . . HOWEVER I DO know if something sounds great or tinny when I'm rowing/running/cycling/eating cake or not, that to me is the important stuff. Other important info is I have small ear shells (outsidey ear bit) and headphones do have a tendancy to just plop off my ears mid row/run etc., which is enormously annoying.
Onto the review bit . . .
Before setting off it is worth noting that although I am a certified, non spoddy, non technical know it all, I did my due dilligence of looking around and screaming the words "HOW MUCH????" to my computer screen many times over the course of my new headphone search. I checked out many online "these are the best headphones" sites which did make me do the above screaching even more. So, after buying many pairs of "these will do" headphones and being dissappointed by awful, tinny sound quality, fally offy earness I decided to go back to Philips stuff as I had a pair about 7 years ago that were ace and lasted for years until the day I trod on them making them only half ace in one ear.
Oh, my delight when I found a pair a lot cheaper and by the make I have come to love on this site, plus, let's face it HOW GROOVY IS THE COLOUR!!! So pressy, pressy, buy, buy I went. They arrived in turbo quick time and I settled down to give them a test. I kid you not I jumped out of my skin as I didn't know what the loud noise was, turns out it was the headphones making the drum beat at the begining of my chosen track sound superb! Off I ran to find my headphone-technical know it all-spod partner and sat him down, plugged a pair of much more expensive headphones I had bought in first; his face just screwed up and the words "they are awful" espoused out of him, then I swapped them for the Philips and he lit up (as I had) and agreed the sound quality, comfort, even the little clippy thing to stop the headphones mucking about in training were all excellent, he agreed that they are so good he now has a pair on order :)
These are a really fab pair of headphones, the sound is full, the colour is groovy, they are neat, superbly comfortable, don't fall off my ears (BIG YEYYYYYY!!!!) come with spare ear plugs and even a dinky little bag to hang them neatly away.
I LOVE THESE HEADPHONES (can you tell?)
