When two extra-ordinary artists meet for a collaboration focused around the work of a third, there is potential for a very special outcome; which is what we get here; all in subtle nuances that leave standard musical interpretations of Satie far behind, on Flatland. It is good to see Canadian singer- director of Ligeti's Le Grand Macabre fame to tackle Satie; showing what a vast array of resources she can pull across the musical repertoire. Simply outstandingly rewarding.
