After studying at the London College of Fashion and Central St Martin's Art School, Jay was apprenticed as a costume maker, and has been making costumes for major West End productions and films ever since. She is currently employed by the Royal Opera House, where she works on costumes for principal opera singers and ballet dancers, and mentors students and apprentices.
