  • Canon 14x32mm performance

Having bought several stabilized binoculars before (including the Canon 15x50 & 18x50) Nikon 14x40 Stabileyes and Fujinon 12x40 Stabiscope (these are true gyroscopic stabilized) and I found the14x32mm to be a winner! The new stabilization system is completly different and stabilize much better than the former one (there is no more that anoying effect of losing the sharp focus each couples each seconds) . Side by side with Nikon 14x40's the new Canon stabilizes better (despite the Nikon has + 5.0 angular stabilization). The Fujinon 12x40 gyroscopic really stabilizes everything at 100% but the final results were less impressive for me than of the 14x32's (which stabilizes as a comparison 95%) because you can do panning using the Canon but not while using the Fuji due to lags and waves when moving. There is a little bit of a chromatic aberration on these 14x32's but just really visible on high contrast situations. The only thing is that their rubber eyecups are a little bit anoying but not that much to be honest (I have 66mm IPD). I loved mine, its really a keeper.

  • top quality binoculars a joy to use

truly amazing binoculars, terrific quality optics and image stabilisation works fantastically well, brilliant for terrestrial observations such as bird watching etc. but absolutely amazing for astronomical observations giving pin sharp and rock steady views of planets, moons and stars etc.
