Good strength even with maximum iron sight cutout
Good Quality and fits well. Curved center scallop for use of iron sights was the main feature that set it aside from others I looked at. In use, the channel barely makes the sight visible at close ranges. Lower would be nice but the groove is probably as generous as possible without making the aluminum so thin that strength would start to be compromised. The iron sight channel was larger than other mounts I viewed, so it's about as good as it gets. It's just a backup anyway so "usable but close" is fine. Included screws and wrench seem good quality although my personal preference is for torx over hex.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

RedDot Henry Big Boy
Scope Mount or Rail, fits perfect and tight on top of receiver. I use a detachable red dot sight. Holds the zero when reattaching (I make sure I use the same position on rail). Most other reviews say you can not use the iron sights, and I agree, the rail just blocks the sights. There is however, a deep V all the way along the length of the rail that can be used as a sight without a scope or red dot attached. It is not adjustable, and generally is going to give you a low large group, but can be used. If taller sights are available, I will be able to use the rifle either way. Shipping was fast, and the price was better than other sights. Note that the Henry Arms sight only lists a rail designed for a Weaver attachment.
