Set in an alternate-history near future, Prey finds gamers stuck in a complex space station occupied by a hostile alien collective. Thought it shares its name with Human Head Studios' 2006 first-person shooter and also features alien enemies, the 2017 Prey has much more in common with BioShock or developer Arkane Studios own Dishonored franchise. Players control Morgan Yu, who must battle Typhon aliens around the connected, non-linear corridors of the moon-orbiting space station <I>Talos I</i>, and gradually harness some of the aliens' special abilities along the way.<br><br>Prey is set in a world in which President John F. Kennedy was never assassinated and the United States invested so heavily in space exploration that it resulted in attacks from a hostile alien collective. The United States and the Soviets banded together to defeat the Typhon, and <I>Talos I</i> was built to serve as both an alien prison and a research facility. The action in Prey is set in 2032, when the TranStar Corporation has purchased and expanded the space station, and used scientific advances to implant Typhon abilities in human brains. A TranStar employee, Yu awakens after a disturbing incident and must find weapons, battle the shape-shifting aliens, collect resources, and manage inventory all while piecing together fragments of lost memory and searching for a way home.Product Identifiers
