The cooker itself is beautiful and suits my kitchen perfectly. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that, when I made the exact same recipe over the years in my last slow cooker, my carrots and parsnips were nicely softened after 8hours on low but in this they were still firm. Tried it again a couple of weeks later with the same result. I have resorted to par-boiling my veggies first before adding to the pot.
