    Digitizer Screen

Product arrived early, but without 2-sided tape, so it is technically, "not ready to install", so you will have to purchase and install the double sided tape first. The new digitizer it is correctly protected on both sides by a plastic film, so don't forget to remove both films. Remove the back side first, then the front which you should relay on the front to protect the front during installation of the module's metal frame. This product worked well, but watch that you don't accidentally kink or injure the tape from the digitizer screen to the computer board as it is longer and positioned further to the left of the digitizer than the original. Removing to original, non-functioning digitizer screen is the most difficult part of this replacement process and the blunt double ended metal trim tool in the plastic trim tool set sold on Amazon works well.

Good value, works great. Missing adhesive & instructions.

I had a dead touchscreen in my 2006 Prius, this replacement touchscreen has my MFD (multi-function display) working like new. Installation difficulty was medium. Product arrived with no double-stick tape supplied nor attached. It requires a very thin strip all around the inside edge of the screen. I had to improvise since most double-stick tape readily available is about 4 times thicker than what's needed. Also, while this glass screen was packaged very well protected and arrived quickly, no installation instructions nor a link to instructions were provided. I managed to find a youtube video link that was sent by a different provider of this type of replacement screen. Also, the surface wasn't fully polished, it had like glass grinding type fine scratches across the screen. Fortunately, in the car after installation, these micro-fine scratches in the glass are not noticeable. I was concerned that it would be while doing the repair. Other similar product reviews indicated some kind of rainbow effect in some screens. I do not see that in this touchscreen replacement at all. So, overall, this is a very good value and I'm pleased with this replacement screen. I was only disappointed by the lack of adhesive and instructions. In short, I do recommend this. The value was great and my touchscreen is working like new again!

  • Here's how to replace your screen

First of all thanks so much for offering this touchscreen, this saved me a couple hundred dollars at least! I am just a regular guy with no technical background and I was able to replace the touchscreen of my gen2 prius. Here is how I learned how to do it: step 1: remove the MFD: youtu.be/KF9yJwOCRdU Step 2: disassemble the MFD: youtu.be/V6bpgL7GH9s As seen in the video there are many different parts and layers I recommend you take photos as you go to help you remember what goes where for reassembly. Work on a large table, and put the various parts down in the order you remove them, this will make reassembly easier. Step 3: take a razor blade and gently slide it between the old touchscreen and the surface it is adhered to. Only the outer 1/4" of the original display has adhesive. Clean the surface. I used a small amount of rubber cement to adhere the new touchscreen outer edge (just like it was from the factory). Rubber cement worked perfectly! Then reassemble, and you are done! I took my time, and the entire process too me about 2 hours and the new screen works like new!

  • Good replacement

This a very inexpensive alternative to replace the touch screen in your Prius. However, be aware that you need to glue it back into the frame and that he connection is not identical to the original (2009 in my case). You also need to dismantle the entire frame and dashboard to get to it.

  • Great replacement part of you are handy.

In a 2008 Prius it is a challenge to get to this part, however, not too bad with great videos on YouTube. Much cheaper than an entire new unit. Earlier fix of trying to redo the connection did not last. This screen has lasted much longer. I expect it to last the life of the car.

  • Rainbows for days

It works, shipped quickly and does the job but it has a wicked halo rainbow look.

  • Worked perfectly with no rainbow effect.

Installed on a 2008 Lexus IS250 awd with no problem. Only thing is you need to have your own 3m double sided tape for the lcd border. Installation was easy and thank god it worked. Saved me over $500 for a new nav.
