Does the job but rather pricey
Basically does the job. It took a while for the birds to work things out after it appeared around their feeder. Squirrels can rock it about to get at seeds dropped into the base. The top could be designed better to be a tighter fit around the hanger of the feeder so that it doesn't slop around from side to side when a squirrel clambers on it - maybe they will give up eventually. You need a long armed hook to hang it on because of the size. You need to ensure when assembling the two halves that the wire spigots on one half properly engage with the two 'sockets' on the other. Not immediately obvious given the lack of instructions. It is expensive for what it is in my opinion.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Not impressed.
My old cage was smaller but better made - the actual size of the gaps are too small - I have had one up for a couple of weeks and apart from a couple of sparrows perched on the outside no birds have accessed the feeder inside, whereas my old feeder has holes big enough to allow many small birds access. Disappointing bird feeder protection cage.
I bought this cage to deter the squirrels from emptying the bird feeder and it is large enough to envelop a 6 port feeder. The metal is reasonably strong, though the squirrels seem to think they could bite through if I gave them enough time, however, the mesh is too small; only coal tits can fit through so it's a very expensive white elephant.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Keeps the starlings out

Big cage

Feed the Birds Not the Squirrels
My garden was invaded last summer by a family of squirrels, five young and two adults. They were intent on eating the contents of my bird feeders, and no matter how I tried to prevent them, they conquered every obsticle I placed in their path. I found the solution on Ebay, and both I and my lovely garden birds thank heavens I did. The squirrels tried of course, these tenacious little animals don't give up easily, but they did not succeed in penetrating the cage.
