  • Very useful tool for repointing

I had a wall which needed re pointing on both sides. I had done one side with a normal pointing type of chisel and found it very hard work and slow. So I purchased the Masonry and mortar router bit to do the other side and found it much easier, faster and neater. For the price I think its an excellent additional tool for repointing

  • Finally an easier way to remove old mortar

I’ve tried many different ways of removing mortar over the years but I think this tool is the best compromise, it’s very easy to use, isn’t as fast as a grinding wheel but is much easier to control so avoids accidental damage to brickwork. So far I’ve only used it to remove mortar over about 2m2 of brickwork, hopefully it’ll continue to impress.

  • Practical solution for removing mortar for those without a disc cutter

Very good quality masonry router that fits a hand drill with at least a 1/2 chuck. I used it to remove the old crumbling and missing pointing from my patio. On the packing it states for use with a mains drill, but I used my rechargeable 12v battery hand drill and it seemed to be fine, although it does use a lot of power and will need quite a bit of recharging if there isn't a spare battery available. I didn't use it for any other jobs so cannot comment on the performance. Its a shame that Faithfull do not produce other sizes other than the 10mm bit to fit other size joints.

  • made the job easy

I bought this item on a whim but it proved such a success I am going to buy another to keep as a spare for future jobs. I used the item non stop for 6 hours and it looked unmarked and still worked as well at the end as it did at the beginning

  • A loyal friend till you lose it.

I used one of these for years till I lost it. Replaced with same. Make sure your mortar course can handle the 10mm a few are narrower but if it fits then its a rapid way to replace odd broken or damaged bricks easily. I usually make a 10mm hole with a mortar drill first.

  • Nice Simple Mortar Router (for Electric Drill)

I bought this mortar router to rake out old black mortar for repointing. I used my battery Makita Drill and the tool did the job well. Fast and efficient purchase and really good value. I’m not sure how well the tool would work on harder sand & cement mortar, or how long it would remain sharp, but worth a try on a smallish job. I would buy again.

Great product for the price and job, got a lot of re-pointing to do and so far so good at racking out the old mortar.

  • Faithful masonry router bit

Works well the mortar I used on was reasonably strong did not need to use a drill bit eg 10mm first just when straight less mess than angle grinder handy tip apply at around 45 degree angle only downside did last that long managed approximately 2.5 m sq

  • Excellent tool

I found this perfect for removing three courses of soft mortar from my engineering bricks are used a battery drill and set the clutch quite low so so as if the router bit snapped it didn't get damaged I would recommend this to anyone that needs to remove soft mortar it is a perfect mess free way to to do the job
