Skywatcher polar illuminator
Absolute must, not only that it helps to see marks in polar finder, but u usually want to first just watch thru hole and make basic aligning and here its damn big help. I found it so great that polar finder and polarscope are separated. It is good practice aligning in Darksky when sky is dark-blue, so you see only few stars in polarfinder, if you for some reason come later, it is almost impossible to align without illuminator. PS: Good quality means that it is not bad q.

Worth the money as an aid
This unit makes polarise finding easier. In theiry it should be part of the mount at source. Its a bit fiddly to fit and can fall out very easily. However its worth the money but once the mount is set up remove it as it will be easily lost as it falls out easy from the mount

It works for me!
I was skeptical when I purchased this has to how well it would fit my Orion SkyView Pro Mount. It was a perfect fit! I can now see the reticle in my polar alignment scope. Just waiting for clear skies now to put it to use.

Faulty unit
Didn't work properly, the potentiometer was faulty and only allowed it to achieve about one fifth of maximum brightness, even at it's max' it was too feeble to illuminate the polar axis reticle,
