The new isn't always better than the old.
For years I've owned and used a Remington R5 Diamond Series shaver, which served me well. It was always smooth. never pulling at my bristles and got the job done really quickly. Alas the Trimmer broke and now the battery stopped holding its charge for more than one shave. So I decided to upgrade and chose the Remington XR1470 to replace in the belief that it'll be even better for me. Unfortunately it didn't prove better than my R5! It pulled at my bristles and left areas practically unshaven no matter which way I moved the shaver over my face, be it at slow or fast speed. I perseverd some more, but it left my face sore and made me wince far to often. I reverted to my ailing R5 until I can find a real man's electric shaver that is good value for money and does what it says on the tin! I'm very disappointed as I expected much much better. So much so that I packed the shaver up ready to contact Remington and see what they have to say. I just can't be bothered though, so I'll keep it until one of my young nephews has enough soft fluff for this Shaver to work on...Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

very easy to use
Brilliant product and so easy to use and for a person of late 80s so easy to handle. charging is far better then i had thought of as cradle to put shaver in no fiddle bits to attend to. heads again very easy to clean even better as can use wet so easy to clean. my bristles are very tough and this does cut with ease with no pulling or burns.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Not totally convinced
Has to be used in extra power mode or it doesn't achieve anything. Takes 8 minutes to get anywhere near an acceptable shave whereas it was down to 4 minutes on the R8150.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
