Good USB TV Tuner but can't use the remote with MCE
I use the open source MediaPortal media center software on my laptops and just wanted another TV tuner but it doesn't seem to be sold as a separate item. The bundled remote control only works with the Avermedia TV software, not MCE compatible media centers. The signal level only reaches 90% whereas my internal Avermedia card shows 100%, but the signal quality is 100%. The dongle fits in nicely with horizontal side by side USB connections but is too high for the vertical USB ports on my old laptops. A small USB extender cable should be included in the box (like the TinyTwin).Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good but could be better priced
The receiver works very well with an external antenna plugged into it. The provided antenna is of no use as it does not do anything to get you any channels. I would price this at around AUD $30-$35 for it to be value for money with an useless antenna. Since its meant to be a portable solution the user has to now invest in a very good portable internal antenna for it to useful, hence the suggested price.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

There was a slight delay on setup till I found that the country was set at Ireland. Change to Australia then the scan produced all the local channels. To activate the TV, simply press the ON button on the remote and the TV is on in 5 seconds. We took the laptop to the local park and watched our favourite program.
