Protects my betta's fins
I have a 2.5 aqueon mini bow and the filter/suction area was grabbing my betta's fins. Not ripping them but maybe holding him there. My local fish wiz kid suggested using this Fluval at the end of that filter/suction area. I wont go without them for any new tank set up in this size and brand. It has been nice for my betta's to rest against without their fins being pulled in. It slides on/off and I will take it out and rinse it in lukewarm water at least 2x a month, but then again, I clean waste products out every day. If you dont, you will need to rinse probably each water change. Good quality, I think will stand up for months with no problem if maintained.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Excellent for Betta Tank
I have a 2-1/2 gallon Aqueon mini-bow tank for one betta fish. I purchased this pre-filter sponge to go over the pump intake valve. Not so good for the c4 series
Works perfect on aquaclear series I tried it on the c4 in 3 days I noticed an extremely low discharge from the filter I took the sponge off and instantly the filter was not happy for about 10-20 seconds then began normal operation I’m sure glass bottom would be the only option worth trying... at your own discretion defiantly monitor the filter output for min a weekVerified purchase: YesCondition: New
