Great for some
On reading the description I thought this would be ideal for my elderly mother, but on actual testing the reach is not 150 meters, more like 100. Obviously it's just a glorified door bell unit so £12-13 sounds about the right price, it's value for money but reliability and reassurance I would always hear my mothers distress call was poor. There is no warning system for low battery in the receiver unit so regular testing is a must and I would worry I would go beyond the perimeter of the lanyards reach (interrupted signal or beyond 100ish meters) and miss a distress call. The actual SOS button is quite bulky to wear but is easily depressed to activate the alarm. I would recommend this if you're definitely not venturing from the same property of the elderly, but if you have a large area to cover, such as a care home or large grounds you risk losing connection between the button and alert system. That said, it's an inexpensive piece of equipment that is capable of bringing peace of mind, just remember to use good quality batteries, replace them often and test the system regularly.
