They do the job a must to use wet plenty of elbow grease required.

I suppose it depends on what you are using these for in my case it was to remove some dried putty from my patio slabs, make sure you use these wet and keep the slabs/block lubricated. I used 50/50 brick/acid cleaner to do that. Elbow grease is called for no quick fix here it does the job but they do wear down rather quickly probably a lot more if used dry but done the job.

  • Most critical review

Works but lots of effort needed

Used it to try and remove a 2mm step between sections of floor leveling. Took a long time but it did manage to smooth out the step as long as there was no ridge, had to use an electric sander (with dust extraction) if there was a ridge. Much better at removing odd spots of floor leveling compound

  • Imagine a cereal bar made of gravel...

Pieces of carbide fall off in use, which then gouge the surface that you're trying to rub down, often leaving it looking worse than it did when you started. The screws holding the handle on work themselves loose with use and need frequent tightening. I am missing a corner of it after a very small impact from a falling screwdriver. It clearly is not going to last very long. On the other hand, it was cheap and I only needed it for a single job, so it didn't make sense to spend any more.

  • Hand held sanding stone

Great item for the building/diy trade, ideal with the handle and very easy to use,I used this for rubbing down any poor rendering work and for cleaning masonry paint for prep work,it's light and easy to hold(less fatigue on hands)obviously the more it's used the more it wears down, but still,I would recommend this item.

  • Rubbing Block, cleans nicely.

Used on my concrete path to remove cement drops etc. Might be a bit too aggressive on softer surfaces.

  • Useful tool for smoothing render

I wasn't sure if this would smooth concrete render, but it does take small bumps out - just what I needed.

  • Just the job

Needed to smooth a previously tiled floor to lay LVT. The traces of cement would have noticed on this thin product. The rubbing block resolved it. Handle needs tightening with use.

  • Rub brick

Used on self leveling cement. But did not level properly. This was the solution perfect

  • Unsuitable

I bought this for rubbing the edges of cut patio slabs, it barely touched them & disintegrated!, poor quality, would not recommend.
