Dawn on 20 October 1934 saw the 20 starters depart RAF Mildenhall in Suffolk. Black Magic arrived first in Baghdad after a non-stop flight, ahead of the field. Most extraordinary were the exploits of G-ACSS in the hands of Flg.Off.

  • Nice model for the money

Nicely executed and finished at the price. One small criticism is that the manufacturer for some odd reason (in my view) decided to model the elevators in a slightly ‘down’ position. You can choose to display the model wheels up or down and with the undercarriage down then sure, it kind of works. However, wheels up and one has the impression that the pilot is performing an outside loop, or has given up on life and decided to end it all and plough into the ground! I would have preferred the elevators in straight and level position, but that’s me. I have all five versions of this model and all are the same in this respect.

  • Poor undercarriage

Very disappointed that the starboard undercarriage leg did not fit tightly. This meant that upon placing the model on the stand it fell off with the eventual loss of the red air deflector!

  • Great Plane.

Great Plane, well made, good detail.
