Great product when it works but poor shelf life meaning much of it has to be binned after a short period. Shame

Hmmm. Difficult this. The product itself works very well. I've used it to repair a very bashed up motorcycle front mudguard and it did the job brilliantly. Have also used it to mend a number of other plastic parts, particularly useful when you have voids or sections missing as the product is good at filling these and can be worked/filed to final shape and finish once hardened. I've even made up small moulds and 'cast' parts using it. The down side? Once opened the superglue seems to have a very short shelf life and becomes gloopy so it just sits on top of the filler powder so you get a semi hard thin layer on top as the glue is unable to penetrate and initiate the reaction with the powder. Have asked the manufacturer if there is anyway to prevent this such as storing the glue in the fridge or are there any solvents which may be used to rejuvenate the glue once it's gone gloopy. Have had no response, so who knows? It's a pity but it seems to be a product which you use immediately and can't store medium term in the garage. Anyone know differently or have any tips to prevent 'gloopy glue'? Rob

    Apx4 the Reason 3 for a tenner ????

Ok here I go, the reason I think this is 3 for a tenner IS, received today an used. The GREY powder seemed to work fine, but the BLACk powder doesn't SET hard.stays soft an won't set to plastic, I bought this for a plastic mend but no good, don't know weather ii is a bad batch but the black powder is definitely not working as it should, only a little moan but if u want it to fix plastic just making u aware mine don't set hard, suppose for a tenner thought it was cheap, may be a dodgy batch , Received item as described an a fair price, be nice to hear if anybody has had same thing or just mine, Grey set straight away but no good on my plastic seemed brittle an cracked, I've only tied this on my plastic , thanks

  • Fixed an oil leak

I discovered a small crack near a sump plug in an alloy motorcycle sump. It was constantly oily and dripped oil when the engine was hot. I ground a slight v shaped groove in the crack, thoroughly degreased the area and used the supafix grey powder to fill the groove then added the glue and it set in a few seconds and the leak was 100% fixed. 10 minutes from start to finish. The repair is virtually invisible and the is still oil tight. This stuff is fabulous and quick. Watch the video on youtube. Highly recommended, cant praise it enough use it on plastics to metals.

  • This is more than just a super glue!!

Needed to repair a badly damaged ABS fairing after spill. Fairing was cracked and had a large gaping hole about 1" wide along one side. I followed the instruction although to be honest the repair process is very intuitive. Tape up the hole from the back, apply the powder and add adhesive. Sets in seconds. Quite tough to sand but once smooth blended in very nicely with surrounding plastic. After that it was simply a matter of applying a flexible filler over the repair area and another quick sand. It was also great bonding a new lug on the inside to screw the indicator lens into. Rock solid. I've got plenty left and look forward to dropping the bike on the left side next!

  • Does not work, misleading adverts

I saw the adverts for this product and as I wanted to fix a broken hard plastic automotive part it seemed perfect. Prior to using the product I was careful to ensure correct application. I carefully applied the powder and then tried to apply the glue. The glue was more of a gel than a free flowing liquid and rather than being absorbed into the powder rolled off in small globules. It was impossible to get the glue into the powder to form a bond. I eventually used a cocktail stick to try and mix the glue and powder. This worked slightly better. I left the product overnight but the next day it hadn't worked and the join was as strong as a wafer biscuit with loose powder still in the actual join. Not giving up I removed the product completely and set about trying again using the second bottle of glue that I had been supplied with - exactly the same result. I would not recommend this product at all. It wasn't expensive but your money would be better off spent on a product that works and this definitely does not!

  • so badly disappointed its upsetting

i purchased this item on recommendation not just on forums but on youtube demonstrations that i had seen. i needed to glue two small plastic pipes together that transport water. i read the instructions poured a bit of the black powder but couldn't pierce the lid on the glue - so had to take the lid off an pour on the surface - did so but the two parts to the glue just didn't bond, and when i tried to repeat the exercise the black powder had solidified in its bottle so i couldn't use it and as for the other bond i couldn't even pierce the bottle - complete and utter waste of money.

  • Excellent

Was easy to use and worked perfectly. No mess and sticky fingers and glue everywhere. Great product.

  • Avoid and just use normal superglue

By far the worse glue ever for repairing kids toys. Not a strong bond at all!

  • Top stuff

Brilliant stuff, used other brands, tried this at Staffordshire classic bike show, bluntly, use it as suggested and you will not be disappointed, good kit.

  • Might work for some but didn't for me

Yet to really find a surface that this will actually stick to with any strength, suspect it's more of a filler. If u need a strong glue look to the commercial grade locktite epoxies. They are all £20 + but do the job. This could not even hold a broken bio together ... It broke at the surface join before writing a word. Buy cheap buy twice
