    Excllent Detail, excellent mechanism, excellent running marred by poor "Hornby" faded green

    Excellent detail, mechanism and motor (better than the R3123 variant). Runs at a true slow pace (this was a heavy goods loco) with excellent crawl speed A minor issue is that the rear NEM connector is too long (I simply replaced with a short NEM pocket connector). More major is the typical Hornby "washed out" green body colour - once again (as with so many other Hornby locomotives) the green is a badly matched, unpainted plastic that is, quite simply, the wrong colour, With that gripe out of the way, this locomotive is definitely a keeper.

    Great detail and smooth running

    As I am restoring GWR 4253, this model of 4261 is a depiction of what our full scale standard gauge restoration will look like. The model is great in detail and runs very smoothly and quietly.
