Handy for securing Windows 10, essential for Windows 11?
These modules are becoming harder to find as time goes by. MS really stirred things up my making a TPM necessary for Windows 11. Hence prices are going up into silly territory. Dead easy to install (just plug it onto the motherboard header) and enable it in the BIOS. Windows 10 picks it up automatically with no fuss and will use a Rev 2 TPM for automatic full disk encryption with Bitlocker. I had to upgrade the firmware to the latest version from Infineon, which is a very manual process using a command line. NOTE: Not all Asus motherboards will accept a Rev 2 TPM, even if they have the 20 pin header. Older boards only accept the Rev 1.2 TPM.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
