Brilliant Tool

Having used these pens my whole electrical life and having lost them over the years. I reluctantly bought this as it has now doubled since covid… It is not as good as the old ones, leading me to believe they may be fakes. I’ve had this a year. The LED light has been blinking for six months which leaves it difficult to look at or read something you are looking at with it. The on/off button doesn’t work all the time and you have to hold it in to get it to work. It’s still accurate enough with picking up the voltages in conductors.

Works but could be better
First the important bit - it shows red when very close to a live wire - so it works OK. It is a shame that it does not beep as well. I think the cheaper Fluke model does beep as well. The feature of it showing blue when it is up to about 15 inches away from a power source is unreliable - on numerous occasions it showed either faint blue or bright blue when it was nowhere near a mains source. So this facility is worthless and so I might has well have bought the cheaper model.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

As an indicator that there IS voltage it's okay
Not so much a flashlight as the battery lasts a shift at best, more an indication that the voltage detector SHOULD be working. As a non contact detector it gives you a positive sign for voltage but don't bet your life on it that the voltage is gone/safe .Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
