Excellent value multi-purpose file
There are two features of this file that make it particularly easy to use: the size of the handle, which fits nicely in one's hand (i.e. I've used smaller ones, which are fiddlier); and the fact that the blade has both a rounded, and a flat side, which means you can use it for almost any purpose. Brilliant sharpening file for all types
Had 1 of these before and it worked really well on anything that I wanted to sharpen up. You can take more off with each stroke by putting a little more weight when pushing or pulling this sharpener or you can actually take less of by using less force which takes off a lot of scratch marks and making it shine more making it easier when using wet stones afterwards and using a leatherVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Multi function file.
I've used the 10" file several times for various tasks and I'm more than pleased with its performance. I found that the diamond coated flat side was ideal for blade sharpening.The rounded side, with its slightly courser surface, is good for smoothing out contoured edges on steel, and plastics too. Smaller than described but a good tool so far.
A good tool for sharpening knives, billhooks and sickles. The half-round side is good for curved blades like sickles and billhooks. I have used it for a while now and it seems durable, with only a slight loss of the initial bite, while working some very hard steel.
