Good solid device for long range WiFi links.
I wanted to network a shed office to the house over approx. 50 meters, and didn't feel like digging a trench and laying a cable, so I decided to set up a wireless link. After some research I decided to try the TP-Link CPE220, since it was cheaper that the competition by quite a margin.
At first I bough one of the devices and set it up as a wireless client connecting to the house WiFi network, which worked reliably, but had poor speeds.
I then bought a second CPE220 and configure the units into a dedicated wireless bridge, this resulted in solid 300mps speeds over the distance and a very reliable connection.
As seen in the photos these are designed to mount to a pole or mast, as I was using them indoors I fabricated some simple mounting brackets/stands.
Other thoughts:
These units are well made, while I am using these indoors, I would not hesitate to set them up outdoors.
Configuration is fairly straight forward, however I would recommend some knowledge of computer networking, as some of the setup can be a bit technical.
