Easy Installation – Upgrade your desktop system easily by plugging the Archer T6E Wi-Fi adapter into an available PCI-E slot. Also supports for 802.11 a/b/g/n standards.
I spent several hours trying to get this thing to work at 200mbps (it's rated upto 1300 but in reality no one ever gets past half of the claimed rate, so about 600)
The 5G performance is dire if the card is put anywhere near a wall. After moving it a foot away from all walls I managed to get upto a consist 200mbps.
The 2G performance is average at best.
Buy yourself a usb dongle version and then you can move this to the best position for 5G without having to move your entire PC
Selected because I dual-boot between Windows and Ubuntu and wanted to be sure that drivers were available for both. Happy to confirm that it works well for both Windows 10 Professional and for Ubuntu 16.04LTS systems, both of which are able to use either the 2.4GHz or 5GHz bands.
Windows 10 simply booted and loaded a driver that worked for the 2.4GHz band and then updated the driver to provide full dual band functionality.
Ubuntu booted without a working driver so I had to drag an Ethernet cable connection across the house to get network access and to get the proprietary Broadcom 802.11 Linux STA wireless driver downloaded and installed (Software & Updates app and go to Additional Drivers tab). Once loaded the WiFi connection was made and works well on both bands. This card uses the Broadcom BCM4360 chipset which seems to be well supported.
