This TPM module works with other motherboard brands as long as it fits
This TPM module has 19 pins and works with other motherboard brands than Asus as long as it fits. The circuit board goes all the way down the connector. Some motherboard manufacturers surround the pins on the motherboard with a plastic frame. In this situation this module will not fit. You can use two UBS2.0 extension cables (2x10 pins) to make it work though (a nice trick I found here https://www.jeff.wilcox.name/2013/09/tpm/). Also, this module's firmware does not need to be patched for the October 2017 vulnerability (https://www.infineon.com/cms/en/product/promopages/tpm-update/). I ordered this for my Asus X99-E WS/USB 3.1 Motherboard, and it's 100% compatible. In order for MS Bitlocker in your OS to work, you need this. Lock and encrypt your entire drive/s in case a burglary and your hardware stolen, people won't have access to your personal data. This module, you will find out that your data was lucky to be alive and safe without this. Buy it, I command you, its the best investment you'll ever make for your data sake. I also use this product in conjunction with a Yubikey. Make sure your MB and OS support it before purchase. MB should have TPM connection and OS should have Bitlocker. Other than that, it's one-time setup and forget about it, everything, all the security key/s and password/s for your driver/s will be encrypted in the module, and you only log onto OS as usual, the rest is done behind the curtain and transparent, no performance hit whatsoever. You can encrypt all removable media drives, HDD (Internal/external), Flash drives, etc, they will automatically unlock when you connect them to the main system where the TPM module installed and yet password locked and impossible to access elsewhere.
