Really works, amazing value
I got one of these a few years ago second hand and it was the only thing that actually stopped the problem of cats crapping in the flower beds. We eventually stopped using it as the problem seemed to have stopped, but the device was then broken in storage, so have invested in another as cats have been returning again. We tried the audio 'sonic' alarms which had a short period of success, but a new cat in the neighbourhood must have been deaf and wasn't bothered by them. Immediate success once this was installed. Our garden is small and this device is more than ample. Could definitely cover a much larger space, just make sure the sensor can see the areas, we found a large bush caused a 'black spot' but the cats couldn't reach here without triggering it. Only trick is to make sure you set the sensor right. Too sensitive and it triggers at nothing, but not sensitive enough and it obviously won't trigger. Only problem we had was that the hose connecting into the device worked its way out and we came home one day to a fountain and flooded garden. Not really a fault with the device, but you do need to check the hose periodically. Constant pressure inside the hose doesn't seem too go for it, we had a 'bulge' appear in a few places, but that could be because of a cheap hose. No a fault of the unit. The price is way under the usual going rate for these devices, so is an absolute bargain. It is so effective though that I'd never use anything else again. Great principle, poorly executed.
The actual principle is great, once you've worked out the bits that are not covered in the instructions. As in other reviews, joints are prone to leaks. Ground spike is a bit short, for soft ground - which gets softer as the unit 'dribbles'. I now have mine mounted in a tube knocked into the ground. Side to side range setting is good, again, once you've worked out how to set it - not mentioned in instructions. Height of the jet is too high for a small garden, even on low range setting (again not mentioned in instructions), ,the spray goes too high and over hedge to next door. I mounted the device leaning forward, to counteract this but of course leaning the unit forwards, then means the sensor is facing at an angle downwards the ground, limiting it's range. Quality? There is a panel on the top that fell off after being mounted for a few days, leaving a big hole to allow water in. The panel has a 'circuit board' on the underside, but there is nothing that appears to connect with it. The panel is warped so does not sit tight anyway, but have gaffer taped on for now pending seller's advice. I've only recommended it, because it is the only deterrent that seems to work.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Last only a few months, better look for higher quality alternatives!
It's a great product in general with few substitues, but the durability of this particular implementation is poor. This one looks to be a knock-off of the original (US-made and more expensive) animal repeller that looked the same but lasted much longer. These break the first season. Well made solid construction
Much better quality than similar products on the market , you can set it to come on daytime nighttime or 24 hours also you can adjust the sensitivity. Does The Job!
Good value for money. I have paid three times the price for similar products. However, the battery cover design is poor, so the battery can be exposed to the elements if not monitored. The set up can be tricky as the settings and sensor are temperamental. But once the correct setting for the surroundings has been achieved it works very well. I have a veg garden and chickens so purchased this to keep foxes and cats away. The product is still working great. pros and cons- Pros- It actually works, the only thing that worked long term with neighbours cats, after a few blasts they stay away even if it’s switched off. It’s not harmful. Easy to set up (requires a outside hose pipe to be connected) parts are interchangeable with normal garden fittings including the sprinkler head. It’s still working well despite being well used for two years. Good value- far cheaper long term and more effective than other deterrents that animals get used to and then learn to ignore. Battery life is about two months for me. Kids love it- they play games trying to sneak up to it. It’s very satisfying to hear it go off at night and hear the sneaky creature run for it launching back over the fence. Had birds nesting in a vulnerable place in the garden so set it to half sensitivity power, it ignored the small birds but went off if something larger was stalking the nest. Cons- Don’t forget to tell your Misses or Fella it’s active when they go up the garden, they will not come back pleased with you, and don’t forget yourself, you will get an unwanted wash. Simple to assemble even if the instructions are rather basic. Smearing the rubber gaskets with silicon grease or Vaseline will help to make the joints watertight. Plenty of adjustment on the spray nozzle to set to the required coverage area. Construction seems to be sufficiently robust to give good service although I suspect that my neighbourhood cats wont need to be soaked twice to deter them from returning and fouling my garden.
