I wanted a straight, vertical, stable stand (actually for a recorder rather than a straight mic). This does the job. However, I have since discovered a 'stackable' version of the same basic design. This has a segment cut out of the base so one stand base can sit on top of another, with the lower stand fitting into the cutout of the higher. I find that more convenient with a music stand and easier to carry around and store. But this plain circular version will be perfectly adequate for most people - and it seems to be well made.

Using with my Blue Yeti Microphone; it is a simple few twists to fasten to the Stand. Very easy to assemble, has a good weight to it and looks professional.

Has a nicely weighted (3kg) base in stylish black crackle finish. Both parts of the telescopic stem are matt black; the locking collar has a good action and locks efficiently. The base has a noise absorbing black sponge rubber ring, and the stand comes with a 3/8" to 5/8" adaptor.

This is a nicely made stand and for someone like me who stands to play bass guitar and sing it takes up less stage space and there aren't feet sticking out in all directions to trip over. Also it's simpler to adjust the height. In my opinion, boom mic-stands are for people who sit down to play? I think they might have included a mic-clip though!
