Speed your hanging basket maintenance
I've been using these Gardman hanging basket raising/lowering devices for several seasons at a time. I have known the mechanisms to get a bit sticky - this is often due to spiders making nests inside them. In windy situations, it helps if you can stick a cane into the basket horizontally to prevent it from spinning by blocking it against a wall or drainpipe - this will lengthen the life of the suspending tape (which can be replaced incidentally, if you get any parcels strapped with 8mm wide strapping, as that's all it appears to be). For the same reason you need to follow the instructions and raise the basket to maximum height again after watering/maintaining. All told, a clever little product that does exactly what it claims.

Very useful hanging basket accessory
I have used these for many years and find them particularly useful for baskets which are sited high up walls. Watering is made so much easier by being able to lower the baskets. The devices are generally long lived and it pays to bring them indoors when the hanging basket season is over. Long periods of high wind can lead to repetitive twisting of the hanging cords which can result in failure but this is unusual and can be avoided by placing the baskets on the ground or on a bench etc. I confidently recommend the device.

Hanging Basket Spring
Good quality item, which works as described but unfortunately my standard size hanging baskets (from B&Q) were too heavy for them so they ended up knee height! Smaller baskets i'm sure would be fine, but they're just not heavy duty enough for standard baskets.
