Unless you are a mechanic you probably don't need one of these, but I've lost count of the number of times I've been faced with thread that needed cleaning up, or a bolt that just needed a bit more thread, so when my Rayburn door kept slipping open because the thread had gone on the catch, it was time to get either a new Rayburn, or at least a tap and die, or better, a small metric kit so I was never without when the next challenge came. The tap cut a very neat thread into the hard cast iron very easily and the neat little box takes up little room and is easily stored ready to make the next thread problem just a few minutes work. I doubt I shall ever wear the set out

I bought this product as the reviews where suppose to be good, When it arrived and I inspected it I found the quality to be very poor, I bought this just to clean the threads on some bolts and nuts that I was using again but proved unsuccessful, defo not worth trying to put a new thread on new items as it just wouldn't work

worst set of taps and dies i have ever seen. they are simply unusable. they are covered in burs are very poorly machined and have a rough surface finish that galls any metal you try to tap even with antisense grease. they are so blunt they even failed to tap nylon!
