Uniross Smart Battery Charger AA & AAA
Useful in helping sort out the good from the bad NHMI rechargeable batteries. The readout shows how long the batteries have been on charge and how much power has been put into the batteries. It has a drain and recharge function to help recover batteries that have not been used for some time. Charge batteries independently and mix sizes and capacities. You need something like this charger to get value out of your batteries, without wasting time with bad units. Impractical
It charges and restores batteries well in some conditions but: - the display is not lit, which makes it very frustrating to use - the operations require a good couple of reads of the manual, not intuitive at all - batteries in certain conditions - completely drained, or unused for a long time - simply won't be charged, as specified in the user manual, they require to be charged with a normal charger first All in all a huge waste of time and money, I will have to buy something else.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Packed with useful features
I bought this charger primarily because my range of AAA batteries have differing capacities (500mAh, 700mAh, and 1000mAh, and my old charger couldn't deal with this at all well. Being able to select the charge current on a battery by battery basis means I can charge 4 at a time without any problems whatsoever, and the LCD display gives useful feedback on progress. I haven't used the USB socket yet, but the ability to charge my mobile at the same time is an added bonus. Downsides? Well if I'm being picky it's a shame you can only charge AA & AAA batteries, but I only have a couple of 9V smoke alarm type batteries and my old charger can cope with those, so it's not a big issue. An excellent charger with the minor limitation of not charging totally dead batteries
The charger is excellent, with numerous helpful functions and variable charging rates. A minor niggle is an inability to charge wholly 'dead' batteries. However, search online for the paperclip method of getting around this. Uniross smart battery charger for rechargeable batteries.
Brilliant charger for AA/AAA batteries, lots of settings but easy to use if you read the instructions!!. Can recover older batteries that have developed memory problems. Great make, had another 2 uniross chargers for over 20+ years, still working fine and saved me a fortune(and wastage in landfill),in single use batteries. Recommended product. Everyone should use this, after all most rechargeable batteries will do 500+ cycles or more. Worth the extra investment, pays for itself many times over. Too complicated and difficult to see display...
Does what it says but is complicated to use unless you have a particularly good understanding of rechargeable batteries and quite difficult to see. I have to have a torch by the unit to see the display clearly. Well made though...Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
