Excellent value
While a cheap dongle isn’t going to outperform a high grade receiver, this little unit works quite well. I am using it with free SDRangel software to listen to the local D-Star ham repeater. If using this software, it is essential to tick the “DC” box to null out the zero frequency “spike”, otherwise it won’t receive anything. It also works on ordinary modes with SDRASharp, which is also free. Don’t forget to install the drivers, which work fine under Windows 10, 64 bit. There are no instructions or software provided with the unit, but are easy to find on the web.

Best £20ish I've spent for a long time
Very impressed with the potential of this device, I am still exploring, using just the stock antenna, Installation was straightforward, on Windows, Linux and android. I'm yet to try it on my pi, but I don't expect any problems there. I fully expected to be DIYing some antenna or other by now,, but I've found the stock antenna to provide plenty of room for exploration This unit would make a great choice for somebody who is wanting to get started with sdr, but would also be perfect for a more seasoned user who would like a small portable unit.

Nice bit of kit, used with a Linx tablet (1010b) and works well. Trying to figure out which control prog to use, Sdrsharp or Sdrconsole both are good and then it's working out how to decode digital signals. RTL-SDR dot com an amazing source of info.
