The little birds didn't even get a look in!
The first night a creature (unknown) pulled out the pins and threw them across the lawn, pulled out the tray of food and ate it all. The next night I replaced the pins with six inch steel tent guyrope pegs. That night a creature (don't know if it was the same one, or again, what sort it was) burrowed underneath the edge of the dome, making a six inch deep hole in my lawn, and again, ate all the food. So my assessment is: it's a lovely concept and a well-made product, but in my garden at least, completely defenceless against some creature or other, and therefore a waste of time and money.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Does the job
Bought this not so much for keeping squirrels out but for stopping greedy wood pigeons pinching all the food. Had to make a couple of holes bigger to allow access for blackbirds and starlings as well as the smaller birds and they all seem happy to get inside.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Keeps the big birds out
I did not expect to see blue tits and great tits using this as well as the robins and sparrows in our garden. The tits are coming down from their feeders and joining the ground feeders, knowing they are safe inside the feeder from any larger predators. Very good value, sturdy, well made and effective.
Brilliant, and a fraction of the price of the CJ Wildbird version - the only other ground feeder cage I know of. Well made and sturdy. I just lift it off the ground feeder to replenish the mesh tray with seed. The birds take their time getting used to it.
