First of all you wil need an 4- 8 cpu adapter for newer mobos, second with only 1 PCIE you can need adapters for 2x6 or x8 GPU sockets, Well thats the bad news, i mostly bought this because it was CHEAP, good amount of Watts and amps for a low buck. As my 1200 chieftec died on me, i had to resort to 2x smaller psu to keep the server running (an 600 and an 750) and the 750 was not very healthy either and decreased performance so i had to make an fast solution and ordered this. As stated i could not use it for Primary PSU (600 runs mobo and the GPU) but as it is more of an fileserver than an Miner, the 850 runs 2x Multipliers (Power) and 15 HDD atm also most of the fans so its a good value for the small Money.

As a low end cost PSU, it’s fine, but with it being NON Modular it’s a pain in the rear to try and fit all the extra cables into a neat case. These days almost all decent PSUs will be modular, meaning you can plug in different coloured cables, route cables differently, and only use what’s needed, keeping cable management easy. This was fine as it was for a quick build on an older motherboard, to run as a bespoke unit. I would not recommend it for any normal PC build.

Good - 850W = plenty of power for anything I want. Plenty of connectors. So far 100% reliable, quite and energy efficient. My Windows PC boots up faster and feels smoother than before. Bad - No anti dust cover to stop dust collecting inside the PSU when its turned off...... Had this for just over 1 year and so far its great, I can leave the PC on all day and it will not over heat etc.....The PC just keeps running with no problems at all. I'd highly recommend this PSU and will buy another one if I need to.

I bought two of these to replace a 650w and 700w PSU. I should have known better. My old units were a bit short of perfect performance, and would give in after keeping the PC alive for a day or so. These 850w PSUs managed about 2 hours, and won't even start after this. This product is basically a glorified paperweight. I will most likely take mine apart and keep the fans, because they are quiet and actually seemed to cool the units quite well.

Replaced Identical one that had lasted over 5 years and was killed off by dust (pc turned on for hrs daily). When it died didn't fry any components just switched off when put under load and was allot of times as was trying to work out what's wrong with pc. So protections worked well. Seems overkill for my pc gtx 960 4gb fx 8320 oc 4.1ghz. So don't think it was ever near max draw on it so might be why has done so well for a cheapo.
