  • Fragile plastic inlet manifold

This is an intake (inlet) manifold for a Briggs & Stratton Quantum engine. In their wisdom, B & S have decided to make this from plastic. A piece had broken off the existing one, so I bought a replacement. The new one had a separate plastic insert so that it could be used in different engines. Whilst, trying to combine insert with manifold, the manifold cracked and a piece of the insert got broken off. In the end I had to glue the various bits together with an epoxy resin adhesive, then grind it down to get a smooth mating surface.
