A simple solidly built affordable lock
A compact but solid looking lock which was bought for a side gate. Would probably need something more sturdy for something like a secure shutter door but ideal for lighter duty. The sliding pin is hardened and slides easily to open and close and is retained in the open position. The keys re reassuringly solid and easy to identify on a bunch with several regular keys. They need to be pushed fully home in the lock and can only be removed in the locked position. One small concern is that the locking action is a little notchy on the sample I have but hopefully will improve with regular use. Substantial bit of kit!
So far all is good! Substantial bit of kit for a great price. Not too bulky either, and looks the part as deterrents go for my trusty mountain bike, although a wider, maybe 70mm might fit better in most cases. So be sure to measure Correctly that the GAP fits your chain ends or other needs, as this dim light thought that the 50mm was for the gap, Not the entire width of the unit itself.
