Better than a wheel
This is superior to a wheel cutter in that very little pressure has to be applied to the cutter itself to achieve a clean scribe. I use this cutter for cutting bottles, when using a wheel cutter for bottles cutter pressure is difficult to keep at the correct angle resulting in having to go over the cut, this makes for a lousy cut, the diamond cutter produces a very clean scribe in exactly the right position with minimum effort, producing a clean cut every time. Poor quality
I used this for cutting glass bottles and the task is experimental but it seemed to go blunt after use on only one bottle. Get a toyo!
Diamond does score glass but it has a tendency to make a ragged score and therefore difficult glass won’t fracture on the line and will track off. I have subsequently found that a quality tungsten carbide wheel cutter when lubricated is far better. Worked well on glass mirror tile
Bought this to cut-to-fit mirror tile and it worked perfectly. I thought I might lose a tile re-learning how to cut glass but measure and mark twice plus a steady hand guided by a steel straight edge meant no lost tile - every one cut cleanly, I didn't even need more than one wee knock with the ball-tap end. A waste of money!
After only a few cuts what had been the cutting tip stopped working, would not even make a mark upon the glass as the tip had totally distorted and was of no used for anything. poor quality of the glass cutter
it works on certain cuttings such as 50% proportional. The results are poor at high proportional. Let say to cut 10% off of a piece of glass (a4 size). I never have a clean cut. at the end, i gave up.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
