The adapter table is used for several purposes. In combination with the guide rail, exact cuts up to a wood thickness of 20 mm can be achieved. In combination with the KS-PS 400 core maker, cores of up to 3 m in diameter can be cut out, and the adapter table is likewise required for installation in the Compact Module System (CMS). The adapter table is easily replaced without tools by the standard table Can be used on the left or right with the guide rail Simple toolless hooking into the core maker Use of dust extraction possible Note: For straight cuts with pendulum jigsaws and guide rails, we suggest using our special "TRION" S 75/4 FSG saw blades (gold coloured blades, available in three lengths). Festool Carvex rail adapter
As usual from Festool this is a well made product, constructed from glass reinforced, plastic which fits to the bottom of the Carvex 400’s and 420’s, after removal of the entire existing base assembly, enabling the machine to be used on the FS rail system. Unfortunately the supplemental bases cannot be re-added, which in my case, as I was cutting metal would have been the Formica lined base, so I ended up with the hot metal shards sticking into the adapter. This is not ideal on a brand new product which ideally I would have liked to have also used on cabinet work and worktops.
