Not fitted yet but tried with a16mm point and it appears to hold the blades in place. The over-centre spring is a little one-sided but it works in both directions all the same. The spring puts some pressure on the solenoid armature so some carefully applied lubrication is an advantage to reduce wear. Time will tell as to how well the point motor will work. So far so good!

I needed to replace a non-latching Seep motor when I lost the spring from one of my N gauge points. I was not familiar with the latching mechanism and was surprised to see how it was achieved. The simplistic arrangement makes precise poitioning of the motor even more imprtant than with non-latching versions but, once achieved it works satisfactorily. I would use again.

these point motors work very well with points that do not have spring return built in . I can now operate lights from the point motor. great units.
