    Swordfish Pointy Pencil Sharpener

I have had a Swordfish Sharpener before (Ikon 40100) That was very good build quality and lasted a long time. This looked similar to that one, with only difference being a little more colourful. One I had before was black and grey. This sharpener is not only flimsy but it also keeps on chewing on the pencil after it's fully sharpened. It has a rubber pad at the bottom wich makes it unstable if you're not using the clamp. The pencil holding face that extends and retracts has a lot more wobble than the one I had before. The handle that you turn is awkward and slips from the hand. I'm not impressed with this model at all and would not recommend it. Pay a little more and get a better model.

  • Not worth the money. Does not sit square on any shelf.

It is not worth the money because it is cheaply made and the designer/engineer did not make sure the unit, when positioned onto any shelf/table sat at 90 degrees to the flat surface. When the clamp is screwed up to the base of the plastic against the flat surface it never finds a satisfactory level - it does not marry the unit to the table/shelf securely enough and is loose. You have to hold the unit whilst sharpening otherwise it rotates away from the initial fixed position because the contact is not 'true'. I can't even be bothered to send it back. Don't buy this cheap trick sharpener. Spend more money and get a decent, strong item that will do the job.

  • Great for standard coloured and graphite pencils.

Great for standard coloured and graphite pencils, does the job swiftly and with ease, don't be tempted to go at it like a bull in a China shop, four to six turns for blunt pencils and just once or twice to refresh. Sadly, little things do still please!

  • Good sharpener

My kid loves it! Now all pencils in our house is sharp and we got loads of them. Just one bad point is quality of securing nut. When tryed to attach sharpener to the desk thread simply gone Bad, Bad quality metal!

  • Worth having

all good ,excellent sharpener, the table clamp is a bit iffy, doesn't hold very well, but find you don't really need it,,

  • Get straight to the point

Having used pastel pencils for many years along with the graphite variety, I have tried every method of sharpening the pencils to a fine point that took a great deal of time and was not very productive, I could not always have the sharp point required for the detailed work that I draw. At last by chance I have found probably one of the best sharpeners in the world that gives me exactly what I require in seconds. Thank you Swordfish. regards, Alec M.

  • Buy Quality and buy Once

I brought this as I got fed up with buying rubbish pencil sharpeners that don’t put a decent point on good quality pencils. I am so pleased I have brought this one. It does exactly what it claims to do. It puts a perfect point on even awkward pencils and does so effortlessly!! Well chuffed. Great bit of Engineering and worth buying
