Well designed but perhaps fragile ?
This is a very smooth bit of kit which does the job it claims to do. Copes with my beard . With one or two runs, and with care can be used to vary the length from 10 mm down and with some skill from even longer perhaps. Mine varies from about 10 mm to 5 and then 3. great care is needed at the joins but it can be done .The vacuum cleaner is superb.. I dont need to clean the basin any more. Once again you need to get used to it. When it appears full, empty it out. You will think it could hold a lot more but if too full it starts missing hair. Why have I given it only 4 stars ? Well, I was very worried at first by the plastic to plastic joints. How long will they last ? I can't see any way of repairing them if they break. Presumably Philips have stocks of replacements though, but how long will I be waiting for them ? And how much will they cost ? At first I was thinking of giving it 3 stars only but as I use it the plastic joints click into place more and more easily , and I'm beginning to feel that perhaps Philips knew what they were doing. Other reviews are either fake or by drunk hairless people who actually thought they were buying a piece of S@#t!
I know you guys did not make this, but after reading what are clearly fake reviews all over the web and Amazon, this is literally one of the worst, cheapest bits of rubbish I have ever been stupid enough to buy. Gone back to my 12-year-old Remington and apologised to it repeatedly for been fooled by a major brand name "Philips" NEVER will I buy a Philips product if this is what the quality they are able to release in this day and age. CHEAP flimsy plastic clips on shave heads and beard guard, the hoover collects approx. 70% of the shavings which does not stop my woman screaming at me for leaving black stubble in the sink and on the bathroom floor, the collection compartment would need to be emptied every time you use it unless your 9 and just hitting puberty in which case you might get 2 days. The suction needs to work through your clippings so it will lose effectiveness the more you shave, with the guard off you cannot get close enough to the skin as there is a stupid piece of plastic in the way. A great idea produced by muppets, COME ON DYSON, THIS IS WIDE OPEN for somebody with an understanding of basic science to make an actual robust product that works.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Does what it says
Over all good trimmer, I'm happy. Good battery running time, short charging time, precision trim. The only downside- it's not waterproof what makes it slightly awkward to clean- you have to use the provided brush to clean it inside. But it's not a big deal.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

holds charge well
It cuts and trims well and holds its charge for a long time. The only downside is that the detachable head unit is secured to the razor with very thin plastic protrusions. Great care needs to be taken to avoid these being broken.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

No more pulling
I have consistently had problems with beard trimmers tugging at my facial hair which is rather thick. With this Philips trimmer, it whizzes my beard off with almost no effort! The motor seems powerful enough to cut, and offers enough suction to collect about 50 percent of the hair. The noise during operation is a satisfying humming noise. The battery is about 30 minutes run in and no warning light yet. The comb sits still on selection of a shave setting. The shave length is very even, but only after a few passes. On the down side, it shipped with a UK 3 pin plug! Why, considering most modern UK bathrooms are fitted with European 2 pin sockets. The blade and comb attachment seems fiddly and feels like a weak point in the design. Hopefully it will survive. Also no bag included.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Plastic so be careful - but works well
Sold body but plastic top so handle with care. Picks up a lot but not all hair and its easy to use. Changing cutting length is easy and it doesn't tug at your beard - phew. Well worth under £40 here but not if you pay the £80 in some other places.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
