I really liked the look of this watch and took ages to decide to buy it. I noticed that although the product appears to be marketed as Danish, Skagen is actually a subsidiary of an American company and I suspect that the watch is manufactured in China. However Skagen watches generally are very stylish and that is where the Danish element seems to have come up trumps. (can I use stylish and that word in one sentence?)
I had read reviews and noticed that there were some recurring complaints which bothered me. One was that it was a poor timekeeper. Not good as that is the primary function of a watch but so far after nearly a month mine has kept perfect time. The other complaint, which was almost a deal changer for me, was that the strap came loose and resulted in the watch falling off. I took a gamble and purchased the watch and lo and behold it fell off my wrist within the first five minutes. I inspected the catch and saw that I hadn't clipped it in correctly. Since then it has not fallen off so I believe that the problems reported are totally due to operator error.
Are there any issues that I believe could be improved? Yes a couple of minor ones. The date is very small so is not easy to read although I have noticed that if the wrist is tilted towards the 12 o'clock position it does make the date more legible. The other very minor point is that the luminosity is not great so reading the time in dark locations is not that good so if you are a night owl and rarely go out in daylight hours buy a Casio with a light instead.
If I had to rate my satisfaction with my purchase I suppose that I would mark it 9.9 out of 10. Is it value for money? Oh yes!
A beautiful slim and elegant timepiece. Can be worn on any occasion. The blue dial draws a lot of compliments. Have many Skagen watches and all are perfect time keepers and quality.
